How to Play: Rotation (61)
Total points available: 120 (1+2+…+15).
First player to reach 61 points wins — one more than half.

Object

Score more points than your opponent by pocketing balls. Each ball is worth its number — pocket the 4-ball, earn 4 points; pocket the 15-ball, earn 15 points.

Rack Setup

     1
   x   x
  x   15   x
3   x   x   x   2
  • 1-ball at the front apex, on the foot spot
  • 2-ball at the right rear corner
  • 3-ball at the left rear corner
  • 15-ball in the center of the rack
  • All other balls placed randomly — every ball must be touching

Game Play

  • The lowest-numbered ball on the table is the "ball-on" and must be struck first on every shot, including the break.
  • You may use the ball-on to pocket higher-value balls (combinations allowed).
  • Points are scored even on flukes — this is not a call-shot game.
  • Your turn continues as long as you legally pocket a ball each shot.
  • Illegally pocketed balls are spotted back on the table.

Winning

  • First player to reach 61 points wins the frame.
  • If the score is tied 60–60, the player who last legally pocketed a ball gets a bonus point and wins.

Safeties

  • If you legally pocket a ball, you must shoot again — no intentional safety after pocketing.
  • You may play up to 2 one-ball safeties per frame where you drive only the ball-on to the nearest cushion without pocketing.
  • Other safeties are unlimited, provided the lowest ball is struck first and either at least 2 object balls move, or the ball-on is driven to a non-nearest cushion.

Fouls

No point penalty for fouls. The incoming player may accept the table position or require the fouling player to shoot again.

  • Failure to hit the lowest-numbered ball first (or at all)
  • Failure to make an open break on the break shot
  • Scratching the cue ball — incoming player gets ball-in-hand behind the head string
  • Failure to legally pocket a ball or drive any ball to a cushion
  • Knocking an object ball off the table (it is spotted)
  • A third or subsequent one-ball safety to the closest cushion
⚠️ Three consecutive fouls by the same player is a loss of frame.

Combination Shots

Combination shots are fully legal — just ensure the lowest ball is contacted first. No need to call the shot or the pocket.
